Jesus. It was a slow morning at work so I thought it would be a good idea to read this. Yeah, right. That fic pushed buttons I didn't know I had. I'm not a huge fan of bondage in fics but yours was just perfectly balanced, as another user said. Arthur as a tattoo artist with Merlin as his willing canvas = possibly the most erotic A/M fic I've ever read.
I liked very much the backstory because once you're finished reading, you can resume the story in your head. I can see Arthur having Excalibur back (what a great idea, that name) and Merlin working with him in his tattoo parlour as he continues his studies. I can picture him drawing for Arthur and Arthur making the drawings his own as he tattoes them on his customers. And of course, Merlin will have all the sketches drawn by Arthur on his skin as real tattoos, becoming Arthur's canvas :o)
I also liked that though it was written from Merlin's POV, you can guess what's going on in Arthur's head. He just can't stop sketching on Merlin's body with his pen because he's just as aroused as him. Loved his reaction at discovering that Merlin's a virgin.
LOVED that Merlin, despite his young age, was so strong-willed and determined to have what he wanted. It made him incredibly sexy. I wish he was more like this in the show.
