Innocent bystander here, but would it make any sense to post the full art in both places? That way the art could be uploaded on LJ scrapbook or whatever it's called these days, and then that file can be the one posted on AO3, to save from having to find another image hosting site? I'm not sure if that's too complicated, but I thought I'd throw it out because I understand that this is an issue for a lot of artists. And imgur is nice, but the site has some funky problems with automatically resizing images. (There is probably some genius way to get around that, and maybe the artists know it, but I've never figured it out. And it sucks to upload something and then try to share it with other people and have them see a smaller image.)
